Your name, email address and profile picture from Google or your email sign-in; your lesson progress; and, once the writing coach launches, the essays you submit and the errors found in them.

When you send an essay to the free marking page we keep the essay and the question you sent, any files you uploaded, the email address or Zalo number you gave for a teacher's result, the result itself, your anonymous visitor id, your country and browser, and a hashed form of your IP address that we use only to apply the daily limits. For AI marking, the text of your essay and question is sent to TypeSafe (the Jev model) to be assessed, and uploaded files are converted to text by Cloudflare Workers AI. Uploaded files are stored privately and only our staff can open them. Your result page has no sign-in: anyone who has its link can open it, so share the link only with people you want to see it. To have an essay, its files and its result deleted, email support@band7writing.com with the link to the result page.

The browser extension looks at the text you select on a page only inside your browser. Nothing is sent until you press its button. When you press it, we receive the sentence that holds your selection, the sentence before it, where the selection sits in that sentence, an identifier the extension created when it was installed, and the extension's version. We do not receive the address or title of the page, or any other text on it. We use the sentence to suggest words and do not store it; we keep a daily count of uses per install, per network address (stored as a hash) and, if you connect your account, per account. The extension keeps its identifier, your sign-in token and the sites you turned it off for in your browser; removing the extension deletes them.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We never see or store your card details. We receive your subscription status, plan and renewal date.

To run your account, show your progress, send sign-in links and trial reminders, and improve the course. We do not sell your data.

When you create an account we add your email address to our mailing list and send a short series of emails about the course during and after your trial, and now and then a newsletter. If you send an essay for marking without an account, your address joins the list only when you tick the box on the form. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect at once. Emails about your account, such as sign-in links and payment receipts, are sent regardless.

We record page visits with an anonymous visitor id kept in a cookie, the page that referred you, your country and browser, and the campaign tags of the link you arrived by, so we can see which pages and ads bring learners. If you came from a TikTok ad, the TikTok Pixel on this site also reports your visit and whether you started a trial or paid, so TikTok can measure that ad.
